Key day

Yesterday was Key Day – the day I signed the mortgage contract and closed the deal with the wonderful Stroobant siblings who have grown up in this place that they are now entrusting to our care, to take on into the future.

I’m aware of a wave of gratitude for all the people who have made this journey so special for me so far – even before the key to the door came officially into my hand. These people have been so generous with their time and their energy, so unerringly kind and warm and obliging. Not a single step of this journey has been less than a joy.

Familie Stroobant

Thank you, Georges, Arletta, Omer and Daniel, and your respective spouses. We drank champagne after the signing, in Georges’ home – you all spoke with warmth of your family home. It is a place that had a presence of its own in your lives, and we have received your stories of it with gratitude.

Thank you, Isabelle from ING bank. We became friends the instant our eyes met over the reception desk in the Ambiorix branch of ING. So I should not have been surprised to find you being the one to deal with my dossier for the mortgage. Somehow, every time we sat down together, we created a field of euphoria that made everything easier – even the unseen analysts on the other end of the phone pulled out all the stops to give me a wonderful deal. And thank you ING bank, for making this whole adventure possible in the first place!

Thank you, Meester Denys the notary and his staff, so quick and obliging, so friendly and efficient.

The Permaculture Squad

The Permaculture Squad

Thank you, Taco Blom and my permaculture sistas, Ilse, Fleur, Heidi, for your generosity and open-heartedness in sharing your ideas and giving your advice.

And of course, thank you Ria and Chrisje for wanting to embark on this adventure with me. I wouldn’t even have contemplated it without you.
