Friends of Dorpsstraat 136
Open day on Sunday 29 July from 10.00-18.00
Our beloved builders are on holiday, but the work here continues in their absence. Work is advancing inside the house, but we need some help to prepare the ground for the digging of our rainwater reservoir at the beginning of August.
Many hands make light work: the more numerous we are, the more fun we will have shifting the pile of wood from the demolition from its current location (where we want the rainwater reservoir to be) down to the new (and still roofless) wood shed and processing it into chunks that will burn in the as yet unbuilt ceramic stove in our – still wall-less but nevertheless present – new living room.
For those who feel more attracted to some real gardening, there is never a shortage of therapeutic weeding – Ria will be on hand to direct volunteers.
And the more numerous we are, the happier Chris will be to feed us delicious quiche with eggs from our hens and salad and potatoes from the garden.
We’ll be starting at 10am, but you are welcome to turn up whenever the spirit moves you.
What to bring:
- working clothes (and a rain jacket just in case)
- stout outdoor shoes/boots
- working gloves if you have them (we can provide some!)
- your favourite gardening equipment if you want to
Where to come: Dorpsstraat 136, 3470 Ransberg
Please let us know if you are coming – send us a mail or post a comment here.
We are looking forward to welcoming you and having a good time together.
